Sacramento

This summer has just flown right by, Mason starts school next week already, so we wanted to get away for a few days and take a little vacation. Sacramento it was! We left friday morning and drove into placerville and had breakfast at Sweetie Pie's and then went straight to the zoo. The zoo was nice, not to crazy crowded and we got to see so animals a little less lethargic than the LA zoo. There was a really cute baby tiger that we spent most our time watching and there was a bunch of giraffes and zebras! It was fun!

After the zoo we went and had lunch at Burgers and Brew... so good! Best sweet potatoes fries I've ever had, and the fish and chips were amazing! So we did that and then went to our hotel room and swam for awhile and then walked down to a greek food place that was also SO good. The boys were exhausted so we took our dessert to go and went back to the room and watched Iron Man 3 and passed out!

Waylon turned into a little fish over there, he figured out how to go underwater without plugging his nose and then there was no stopping him! I don't know if I've ever seen him that happy. He mainly just wanted to stay in the hot tub and do it, for some reason he figured it was too deep in the big pool to go under... hard to figure him out sometimes... And even Mason, my little scardy-cat, on the last day figured out that he could unplug his nose and go under too and then they were having even more fun! Truman of course loved the water too except after we opened his eyes to the hot pool, he too wasn't a fan of the big pool.

Saturday afternoon we walked over to a sandwich shop that of course was delicious then headed back to our room for naps all around. That night we got dressed up and went to Ruth's Chris Steak House. It was a little stressful because it's such a nice place and Truman kept screaming his high pitched scream but the people around us were so nice so it helped take some of the worry of ruing their dinner away. We were going to get dessert there but T was getting pretty loud so we left to find an ice cream shop or something but it was super crowded and the one we found so we went back to our room and went swimming some more. There was so many people in there though, and after Waylon got elbowed in the head and shoved under water by a giant teenage boy and I screamed at him, we decided to go up to the room and order some chocolate cake via room service. Sunday we swam some more and vegged around and headed home. We stopped and had lunch at Jack's.... amazing... took the long way that was more scenic, and were home around 4. Loved getting away and can't wait to do it again!

Love my crazy little family!
